Creative Writing
I have written many things over the years. Below I have included a few sample pieces I have written in the last year. I enjoy many different genres of writing, and have been given the opportunity to experiment in many fields. Thank you!
"What Color is Your Wedding Dress?" - Erin wants two things, to get married, and for her best friend to come back. Erin and her friends have talked about their weddings and what color their wedding dresses were going to be since the day before seventh grade. However, now that they have grown up things have changed. Erin flashes back and forth from her years growing up to present day as she processes her emotions and unhappiness with herself. Erin struggles with the loss of her best friend and with an eating disorder as she tries to pick out a wedding dress for her upcoming "special day," that doesn't feel so special.
"I See Her Everywhere" - Oliver sees his best friend everywhere, which used to be normal, except she's dead. He tries to live with the guilt, and figure out a way to move on; but struggles through normal life as the ghost of his past, and his best friend, follows him.
"My Heart is Made of Flowers" - Poetry collection. A few samples of work that are still in the process of being pieced together in to a larger body of poems.
"The Halfers" - Query letter/book proposal submitted to a publisher for my nearly completed novel. This query letter is different than most as it follows the specifications of this specific publisher. This letter includes an introduction, short summary of the book, and sample chapters.
